Leslie: “The PLIC is a great opportunity to show everything we are learning”

VCF Mestalla face Fulham FC in the opening matchday of the Premier League International Cup
VCF Mestalla start a new season with the first matchday of the Premier League International Cup (PLIC), a competition they will once again combine with Segunda Federación Group III. The Valencia CF reserve team visit Fulham FC this Wednesday at 20:00 (live on YouTube, the VCF App and website) aiming to build on the positive feelings from pre-season and start the 25/26 season on the right foot.
Miguel Ángel Angulo’s side are looking to claim their first three points to take an early advantage in a demanding Group B, which also includes Borussia Mönchengladbach, Nordsjaelland, Juventus, Crystal Palace, Leicester City, and West Bromwich Albion. However, it is worth noting that VCF Mestalla will only face the British teams in this first round of the competition.
Ahead of the clash against the London side, winger Leslie Okai spoke to VCF Media, highlighting the good work the team have put in during pre-season and the excitement with which they approach the start of the competition.
PRE-SEASON WORK
“We have progressed since the start of pre-season, and I think we have shown that we are very well prepared for the new season, and that is always positive.”

STUNNING GOAL AGAINST UB CONQUENSE
“It was a good moment for me. I had the opportunity with the ball, I saw that I had a chance to go for goal, I trusted my instinct, and I went for it.”

PREMIER LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL CUP
“It’s a great opportunity to go out there, represent Valencia CF, and show everything we are learning. We are always ready to give our best.”

FIRST SEASON WITH VCF MESTALLA
“I’m taking it step by step, little by little. I’m willing and ready to learn and gain experience, and also to show the team that I’m prepared to give more. I want to help the team fight until the end of the season to win as many matches as possible.”
